Argentina vs. Uruguay or, How I ended up being on national TV

I've never been a big football (soccer) fan and I definitely never imagined that I would give an interview for a sports channel on national TV!

The guys in the local office surprised me by taking me to the hottest sports bar in Buenos Aires to watch the game of Argentina Vs. Uruguay. This was a very important game since Argentina had to win in order to make it to the world cup. Further more, rumor has it that if Argentina is to loose the game, this would essentially be the end of Maradona's career as a coach.

This bar looks nothing like I have seen before. There are more screens than you can imagine, football related decoration and an upscale-ish atmosphere.

Since this is the most famous sports bar, it was full of TV crews (national and local), all waiting to report about the "mood on the street", depending of the result.

The energy in the bar was high and any move that had a slightest progress in favor of the Argentinian team, made the crowd cheer with excitement and joy. Luckily, Argentina won and once the game was over, the media was looking for people to interview.

One of guys asked me if I would be willing to give an interview and of course, I couldn't miss such an opportunity. Before I knew it, I was approached by a guy with a tie and a big microphone, followed by a camera man. The interview was really funny because the guy was asking questions partially in English and partially in Spanish. My answers where a mix of English and Spanish (well, more like 95% English and 5% Spanish), and I did my best to say positive things about the Argentinian team.

Apparently, this was broadcast live in one of the national channels! Some guys in the office told me the other day that they have seen me on TV! So now I'm a big star in Argentina.... who would have thought...
